   book released
Thursday, August 2 2012
The book that Gretchen co-wrote with our friend Jenny was released today. I haven't read it yet, but I did post a review on Amazon.com. That baby required three years of gestation, and it wasn't always easy. But, whoomp, there it is!
Continuing in her capacity as animal rights activist, today Gretchen drove all the way down to Napanoch (where she used to be the site co-ordinator for the Bard Prison Initiative at Eastern Correctional Facility) to carry out an information-gathering expedition on behalf of PETA (the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals). The goal was to check up on a dog that is supposedly being mistreated. But when she got down there, Gretchen didn't see either the dog or the owner. And there were no fashionable new bullet holes installed in our car.
I spent the day the way I've spent the others this week, interactively trying to produce JSON matching the needlessly-complicated demands of a pair of frontend developers. It was aggravating work, though occasionally I found it somewhat fulfilling.
