Gretchen's recovery continued today, though she'd occasionally have minor setbacks when she'd push herself too hard. Later this evening, in amongst trouble with The Organization's web server, I watched large parts of Stand Up Guys (a film about aging out with dignity in the crime world) with Gretchen. With the sort of all-star cast it featured, production must've been expensive. Gretchen liked that its pacing and tropes were a throwback to an older style of movie-making. (These days her illness has her preferring the simpler of media pleasures.)
As I have for weeks now, all the food I ate today was stuff I prepared for myself. Mostly it took the form of sandwiches, though this evening I made an excellent (and very simple) salsa using just large dark red kidney beans, a chopped-up pickled jalapeño pepper, and a variety of small tomatoes fresh from the garden and chopped into small pieces.
