Conditions were significantly warmer today, with temperatures rising as high as 50 degrees Fahrenheit. It was nice to dial back the burning of firewood now that I can see all the way through the top of the woodshed for the first time since April of 2014 (nearly four years ago). It's also nice not to spend five minutes suiting up before taking Neville on his poop walks.

Today was the day that Donald Trump reportedly referred to countries with non-white occupants as "shithole countries." He compared them unfavorably to Norway, perhaps because Nortway is about as white as a country can get (though they're perhaps a little behind Iceland). This sentiment triggered a firestorm on Facebook, though supposedly White House staffers considered this a master stroke, given how happy it will make Trump's base. It tells you something that all that matters to Trump and his henchpeople are the worst elements in our society, the sort of people who would be gladdened to hear poor countries insulted.
