didn't want to leave him hanging

I had another fairly typical remote workday at the cabin today. As always, I was slow to get started, not really getting much done until after my lunch break (which happens pretty late in the day). I took the dogs for a brief walk during the lunch break, taking them down to the dock via the Mossy Rock Trail and then walking past the outflow beaver dams to return to the cabin via the trail that climbs up through the cliffs past the big sugar maple trees that somehow survived logging that took most of the big trees.
Late in the workday, I was back testing SMTP servers that send email for an Oracle database. When the person I'd been communicating with told me about a different SMTP server to try, it was already past the end of my workday, but I didn't want to leave him hanging over the long Labor Day weekend, so I tried it out and found that it worked.
I pretty much started drinking hard after that, though I somehow got my shit together enough to top off the heat in the hot water system and then take a bath. I also ate some cannabis, though it was too weak to have much of an effect.
