   November 2025

Nancy's new cars - And Charlotte looses her mind after seeing Jack for the first time in months.
off to Zürich - After an urban vegan meal in Newark, we sail through airport security despite the ongoing government shutdown.
woo-woo buffet with fondue - Expensive dinner at a very spiritural vegan buffet place in Zürich.
train to Basel - We walk to a couple museum and meet up with friends from Scotland.
the shabby part of Basel - Boarding the boat for our cruise down the Rhine.
the Neuf-Brisach parking lot - At the center of an old walled town in eastern France is a parking lot.
Strasbourg - We bike to its ye olde part in the clammy cold.
unexpected music in Speyer - We stumble upon a chamber music rehearsal in a gothic church.
the way I like to cruise - In the daytime with the scenery going by.
the eventual victory of team Chamomile - After seeing the Cologne Cathedral, Gretchen and I watch a heist movie and then form part of a victorious music trivia team, mostly thanks to our friend Kelly.
the fairytale Netherlands - Old windmills and buildings that lean over canals.
the Rijksmuseum - Walking around in a vast art museum in Amsterdam after and before eating vegan doner sandwiches.
Newark via Munich - We get some bakery goods, take a canal boat tour, and fly back home from Europe.
cheap flavorless vodka - It only cost $12 and barely changes the taste of mixers it is added to.
an editor for many-to-many meta data - Early morning programming inspiration and picking up Gretchen in New Paltz with the dogs.
stomach acids and Montepulciano - Watching Nine to Five and then a stomach condition forces me to abandon a double dinner date.
used solar panels to the Adirondacks - After buying some cheap used solar panels, I drive the to the Adirondack cabin to deal with plunging temperatures.
dock decommissioning, 2025 - I use two winches in tandem and benefit from a high lake level.
fuck it, we'll do it in the backend - I give up on parsing inverter data in a remote microcontroller at the cabin.
most minimally-invasive procedure possible - A filling for one of my wisdom teeth instead of yanking it out or giving it a root canal. Also, a successful vegetable soup.
oh, it's little-endian now - Tracking down values in the new inverter data format. Also, purple pie with friends who also recently went on a cruise in Europe.
start of winter hygge - Cozy by the fire and then later figuring out where data is while watching Fred Dibnah clips.
90 mg of pseudoephedrine - I ramp my recreational dose down somewhat.
paprika at Mother Fucking Earth - Also, a house inspection goes well aside for a handrail that breaks under the inspector's weight.
outdoor lawncare jihad - This included a late-season lawn mowing just before the inlaws arrive.
pre-Thanksgiving lull - Firewood gathering and stone wall building.
Thankgiving 2025 - Lots of laughter and a disgusting tofu quiche.
the crowded Basilica - In Hudson, NY, at a craft fair, drinking a beer by myself and watching a mentally challenged girl loving up on a dog.
tiny cubes of glass in the door of a microwave - A tea-heating mishap leads to an explanation of the kind of damage an escaped microwave can do.
tea-induced nap - Despite all the tea I drank this morning, I get an overwhelming urge to take a nap.
