see also: Energy in a Real World Virginians for Wilderness Forests of the Appalachians | Monday, July 4, 1977 Placed wood chip mulch around 4 of the new trees in the hill orchard after hauling a load up with the truck. I also continue to water beans in the creek garden where the Chinese cabbage is coming up. I also dug about a peck of Kennebec potatoes in the hill patch. the yield being poor since the vines died back as a result of the drought. 18 eggs today. * Today I finally discovered water!-or rather its importance. It finally dawned on me that the corn, beans etc. I had watered over the last few days were a lot better for it. (edit)
