We had a very light snow last night-with rain and sleet-and, as usual, a lot of wind. Honey seems to be a little under the weather, eating, but not enthusiastically, also a lot of shivering this morning. We didn't succeed very well in giving her pills. I finished making my wooden chair (Thor's Throne). I also hauled 4 WB loads of fairly well rotted horse manure on the old melon patch of the slpe garden. 6 eggs today.

Note we had another burn-out and only 6 days after I cleaned the stove pipes! We must find a solution. However, we did find that sodium carbonate puts out a flame fast when poured down a chimney. [Note that we recently had the chimney lined with stainless steel and now have it cleaned twice a year. Also, we're more careful than ever to burn seasoned wood. Even at that we had a minor burn-out!] We bought a 50 lb bag of alfacorn.
