Tuesday, January 10, 1978

It was 3deg. F this morning and at 4AM our water oipes in the basement were frozen, requiring light bulbs, candles etc. to thaw them out-not before 10:30 or so! We're now feeding Natchez twice a day about 2 quarts of grain (oats + corn) and alfacorn combination. I also give the chickens an extra dish of whole corn several times a day. We had 11 eggs today. George zapped his first "peepadie" [a slang name for a J. J. Warren hen!]
