see also: Energy in a Real World Virginians for Wilderness Forests of the Appalachians | Thursday, January 26, 1978 It rained quite hard and with a wind last night and this morning. The stream is as high as it ever was since we lived here. This morning, the wind, which felled a wire to the smoke house last night, is even stronger and it's turning cold fast with a few flakes of snow. I cleaned the stove pipe and stove this morning. This night it is terribly cold and windy-much like last year. We had 17 eggs today. I fed Natchez 4 times-heavy grain twice and alfacorn and hay this evening late. Bought 100 lb each of corn and alfacorn. (edit)
