J. F. Shaner came early this (Sunday) morning and his son knocked the bee swarm into a cardboard box after climbing out on a limb. Mr. Shner then picked the queen out of the grass. We now have an extra hive, all with supers. We all learned a lot watching this work with bees. Planted all the Burpee;s VF tomato plants with stakes in the slope garden (Was fertilized earlier for corn).. Also planted an edge row of mung beans along the corn. in the hill field. Betty caught a good meal of fish for breakfast this evening at sundown. 14 eggs today.
