see also: Energy in a Real World Virginians for Wilderness Forests of the Appalachians | Thursday, August 3, 1978 Froze 4 qts. of Trucker's Favorite sweet corn from the hill field. Pulled up and brought to barn to dry 2 feed bags of pinto beans from the hill field. These were quite dry already. Made another gallon of sour kraut. I began to dig potatoes in the slope garden where many are damaged by a fat, dark grub-although many fat white grubs are present also. (edit) Rain, quite heavy at times today. Since I didn't sleep out raccoons really got into the hill sweet corn. Hauled up about a bu. of potatoes from the slope garden. I spread chicken manure from the coop litter on the goat pasture. 7 eggs today. (edit)
