We had a heavy and long rain yesterday and today it is cloudy, cool and foggy-the drought appears to be broken. A few Japanese beetles still linger. The edible sunflowers (Jerusalem artichokes) are in full bloom now and there are recognizable tubers on the sweet potatoes. The other day we froze both sweet and hot peppers.
