see also: Energy in a Real World Virginians for Wilderness Forests of the Appalachians | Thursday, January 13, 1977 -9deg. F this morning and I placed one more light in chicken coop last night (3 in all). I did this around 2AM. 18 eggs today despite the cold. We're dragging firewood down by hand now. We had another "adventure". This adventure was a waterpipe (creek water ) which became disconnected in the back porch, perhaps due to frost forming. At any rate, the watergushed forth just as Betty and I were g etting ready to drag firewood down. Had we left, it would have resulted in a flood. At any rate, and much to our surprise I was able to fix it by simply hammering the pipe together with a wooden stick! We have also had more trouble with pumps freezing slightly. (edit)
