Pickling cucumbers planted 7-5, or41 days ago, are beginning to bear. We pickled 13 more qts. of sweet-sour pickles using the wood stove, although the weather was quite warm. We had a heavy shower this afternoon. 16 eggs today. Last Friday we got a new kitten, "Victor", since Henry had not come back. [Betty brought him home from Western State Hospital, where she was working, and where she asked for a "striped kitten" from a litter someone had.]
