see also: Energy in a Real World Virginians for Wilderness Forests of the Appalachians | Tuesday, September 6, 1977 *Noted a J. J. Warren hen mount another J. J. Warren in exact imitation of a rooster! This is probably in part due to our rooster Forager being inactive as a result of a sore foot. 11 eggs today. I picked 8 lbs of beans and gave away a large bag of cucumbers and tomatoes to Betty's coworkers. (edit) Gracie seems better today after being ill for several days due to the loss of her horn. This dehorning method (rubber band) seems to work well, leaving a clean looking wound with no loss of blood, but there is cosiderable discomfort to the goat for a few days (week ?). We had a heavy thundershower this evening. (edit)
