I began cutting up the wood I felled late last spring and noted that the hickory (bitternut, pignut) are already fairly riddled with worm holes. WE also froze 2. 5 qts of hot peppers and made cottage cheese. The weather is very cool today with a promise of frost tonight. I gathered a lot of green and some ripe tomatoes. I dicovered a sugar maple (Acer saccharum) ~ 8 ft tall on the southeast slope of the Mtn. 8 eggs today. We brought Willie in the house for the night the for the first time this season.
