Sunday, March 18, 1979

A very beautiful day with temperatures in the 60s. We all rode the horses and also harnessed Natchez and had her pull her first log in this manner-and under trying circumstances with our silly neighbor purposefully taking up his gun and trying to frighten the horse, but it didn't work and she was calm for the most part. I also spaded in the slope garden. 23 eggs today. We also noted that the bees (Shaner's) didn't winter as well as we thought with only about half of hives active. But they are already bringing in pollen!
