I dug a hole and placed a post on the bee yard fence and did some spading in the slope garden. Brandy had a single doe kid late this afternoon. Also an all time egg record-3 doz. Sold 2 doz. eggs at 70c a doz. The weather has turned warmer and we have abundant milk now! April 19 Did some spading in the slope garden and I patched the roof (tarred) on the house and barn. Hoagie got a free buck goat (just born) from Barnharts and is trying it on Honey. She almost accepts it but not quite and I hold Honey while Hoagie holds the rear and it sucks. Hoagie also fed it some colostrum from a bottle before we took it to Honey. 26 eggs today. We also had a bit of a problem with Brandy's kid, who got a chill. We had to bring it in the house where it recovered and then brought it in the warm sun, where it sucked again. Bought 100 lbs each of corn and oats.
