Quiet Andy

Quiet Andy is from Malvern, Pennsylvania, though his exodus from Malvern is a post-Big Fun development. In Malvern he lived in a primitively-furnished garage, which became a popular late-night hangout for bored young adults in the area. Andy was evicted from the garage in January of 1998, at which time he relocated to a small, overpriced two story dwelling in nearby Paoli. In May of 1998 he came down to Charlottesville and began working at Integral Yoga (a natural foods store controlled by a local swami) while living out of his van, which gets a phenomenal 26 miles per gallon.

One thing that strikes everyone about Andy is how very quiet he is. He rarely speaks unless spoken to, and the things he says often have a Zachary weirdness about them. Unlike most Malvernians, Andy is low-maintenance and can usually find ways to entertain himself. His hobbies include making and playing African drums and sculpting little heads out of clay. He generally leaves his little clay heads in random places around town for other people to discover.

Owing to his prematurely thinning hair, Quiet Andy was known for a time as "Balled Andy," but people got in the habit of addressing him with this name to his face, so he is henceforth to be known only as "Quiet Andy" or "Andrew."
