not-especially-copious - Sunday September 16 2001

Drawings rendered in chalk on the President Street sidewalk today: frighteningly accurate abstract forms of fighter jets and commercial airliners. Nearby: a massive impromptu shrine of flowers and candles on the stoop of the brownstone of someone who didn't return. I was out and about on this perfect September day to buy flowers for the house. Meanwhile Gretchen has been upstate for the past two days.
I tried to watch Clint Eastwood movies this evening but digital cable was screwed up on that particular station and I had to return to watching continued coverage of the not-especially-copious trickle of news.
Edna the Kitten killed a mouse today and Sally the Dog, jealous at her success, nonetheless celebrated by digging two broad shallow holes in the backyard.

Edna the Kitten, yesterday.
