Leonid Meteor Shower - Wednesday November 17 1999

As I rode my bike home through the autumnal chill along the San Diego River, I was treated to the occasional shooting star. I wanted to see any that fell, so I only blinked when I absolutely had to. The cold air on my eyes sent tears streaming continually down across my cheeks.
I was heading west and so was facing that way, though I have no idea which way I should have been looking to see the most meteors. When I came home and looked east for just a moment, I saw an extremely bright greenish shooting stat falling calmly downward over the heads of two of my neighbors. Kim and I would have gone to the desert with Steph and EJ to watch in the darker, clearer skies out there, but neither Steph nor EJ ever called.
