This is particularly remarkable given the dirt-floored semi-outdoor "café" kitchen where they'd just been hanging out (only one of the tidy children above were actually caught in this picture). The chickens pictured here were not above cannibalistic tendencies; I saw them sneaking pecks at the corpse of one of their butchered comrades who was being prepared by their human captors for lupper.
