Tomorrow there would be a party at Eva & Sandor's house for Eva's birthday, and the theme was "dumplings." Gretchen spent much of today doing prep work for those dumplings and also for a carrot cake that would be Eva's birthday cake. My part, as always, was to paint a painting of one of Eva's critters. I looked through her Facebook images until I found one of her oldest cat Piggy, whom I then painted. You can see the results below.



Meanwhile, Charles the Cat now has been given the run of the upstairs bedroom and bathroom. The door between them is now open and the door between the bedroom and the rest of the house is now closed. Sylvia is mostly in there with him and they both have everything they need there: water, food, soft places to sleep, and two litter boxes. At some point Charles decided the habitat beneath the bed was better than anything in the bathroom, though he ventured out now and then to the bedroom carpet, which he occasionally delighted in rubbing himself against.
