Your leaking thatched hut during the restoration of a pre-Enlightenment state.

Hello, my name is Judas Gutenberg and this is my blaag (pronounced as you would the vomit noise "hyroop-bleuach").

   sun permeates all

Los Angeles. It's the first place I've ever lived where the cold water flows lukewarm from the tap. It's the only place where a basketball court on a sunny afternoon won't necessarily be a hub of youthful activity. In this part of the world, people take the sunshine for granted. It permeates everything. I'm looking forward to the occasional rainy days that are an alleged feature of winter in Los Angeles.

Today was perhaps the lest remarkable Friday I've experienced in years. My housemate was gone all evening, and without his suggestions for things to do, all I did was watch teevee. I think it's good to take advantage of your time away from work to enjoy your house, especially when you have a multi-K mortgage and big checks to write to a former girlfriend and former would-be mother in law.
I went dumpster diving behind the one computer store on Wilshire where I occasionally find things, but all I found was an IDE drive cable. I miss the computer dumpsters I used to know in Oberlin, Ohio and Charlottesville, VA.
