looking for a UI for a tiny screen
Monday, February 8 2016
This afternoon, I returned to the tree I'd partially cut down yesterday and salavaged another load of nearly-equal weight: 125.95 pounds. There was more moisture in this wood than expected, and I would have drive water out of it using the heat of previously-salavaged firewood. As long as I have some dry wood on hand, I can always make damp wood as dry as I want it to be.
Returning to my Raspberry Pi project, today I research my options for music player applications. What I wanted was a player that could take over then entire screen and make efficient use of it, much like the UI for a classic iPod. At first I limited my search for players specific to the Raspberry Pi, assuming without much thought that all the Linux music players would only work on x86 hardware (Raspberry Pi uses ARM hardware). But once I started leaving Raspberry Pi out of my searches, I found a lot of Linux music players, many of which could be added using apt-get install. Unfortunately, I have yet to find a music player that does what I want, which is strange. Am I really the first person who has wanted to make a Linux computer with a tiny screen behave like an MP3 player? It's possible, though, that I could use an existing reskinnable MP3 player and either find a skin that looks the way I want it, or create my own skin (which is probably done in some sort of formatting language similar to HTML).
