who let the 'tards out? - duh, duh, duh

I've heard conservatives stick up for the guy and I've heard meat and potatoes types in middle America say he seems like one heck of a nice guy, but is there anyone, anyone in this entire world, who is not embarrassed by the locution, fuzzy thinking and contradictory (when parseable) statements made by George W. Bush? Who let that babbling barbarian into Europe?

"I'm makin' good progress on this issue in Europe! There's some nervousness and I understand that, but it's beginning to be allayed when they hear the logic behind the rationale."

Oh please! And Monica Lewinski is famous mostly for her handbags. This is what humans have come to in the year 2001: the most powerful nation on Earth has allowed itself to be led by a village idiot. Didn't Nostradamus say something about this happening? The situation is so preposterous, I'm sort of curious why there hasn't been a military coup.

Tonight John cooked an elaborate (and delicious) meal consisting of big salmon steaks smothered in tomato & pepper chutney, which we ate while watching The Simpsons and Malcolm in the Middle. One thing I've repeatedly noticed about that latter show is that many of its attempts at humor go so far overboard that they aren't even funny but instead verge on the cringe-inducingly stupid. Nonetheless, as television comedy goes, it is somewhat revolutionary. As John noted months ago, it's one of the few American comic shows whose humor is situational, not joke-driven.
