like holding a mechanized Donald Trump Thursday, October 13 2016
I found myself having to ignore the banter on Slack as well as the latest news from Donald Trump to work on the thing I'd told everyone I work with that I would finish today. I came close to finishing it too, though there were a number of details that would have to wait for code deployments tomorrow.
In the mail today I received a Greenworks hedgetrimmer, and I had some fun running around trimming things, particularly the white pines in front of the house, the main thing I'd bought it to trim. There's something very satisfying (if mildly sadistic) about trimming a bush with such a tool. It's relentless in what it wants to do, and yet the bush or tree has to take it. It's kind of like holding a mechanized Donald Trump in your hand, though it's much more effctive and eyes-on-the-prize than that.
