feline characters in the foreground snapped Sunday, December 24 2006
Throughout the day I worked on finishing a painting I'd begun at the Adirondack yurt. It was of our cats Julius and Marie stretched out on the living room floor enjoying the fire. At times as I worked it felt like a lost cause, as if I was never going to finish a convincing portrait of either cat. But then, after I'd gone over the background with a totally different theme, the feline characters in the foreground snapped into focus and "said" (if that can be the word) what needed to be done to them to make them what they needed to be.
Cat painting at the end of the day.
Same painting after leaving the yurt a couple days ago.
