Like my brownhouse:
   party timing rule of thumb
Sunday, October 25 2009
Down in the brownhouse today I put in the last of the particleboard panels for the walls (with the exception of a small 12 by 12 inch piece) and then installed two panels defining a ceiling. With that done, I cleared out the amazing amount of clutter that a 40 by 40 inch space can accumulate and began applying coats of polyurethane to the bench where the toilet seat will go. This bench had been surfaced in fine-grain MDF, and I'd been concerned by how this material behaved when Stripey the cat or I stood on it with wet feet. It's really just high density cardboard, eager to absorb any water that happens by and then swell up like an allergic rash. [REDACTED]
